Nestled in the heart of DIFC lies a new eclectic space that combines Emirati heritage and modern design to bring stories of the past back to life. Built around a sacred tree, discover true Emirati culture through a unique dining experience at Neem Tree Lounge. Immerse all your senses in a holistic atmosphere as you indulge in an International menu featuring fusion Emirati specialties. Open from 12pm to 5am Neem offers the perfect escape anytime of the day.
Neem was brought to life by Majdi Hassan Alamin. While in DIFC, Majdi, Founder of Neem Lounge, came across a Neem tree next to an old office space intended for renovation. The tree had been in its place for decades untouched, and brought back joyous memories of his youth in the UAE. He instantly envisioned the potential for the space, and as the idea began to grow in his mind, he came across a motivational quote by HH Sheikh Mohammed that read “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it”. Determined to bring his concept to life, he immediately brought the idea to Saleh Al Akrabi, the CEO of DIFC Property Management, who supported the concept and assisted in preserving the site to build a unique dining experience in the heart of DIFC.
Neem is inspired by old Emirati architecture and modern contemporary design. The restaurant features a tranquil interior with minimal drawings telling stories of the UAE on its walls. Furniture is locally made, and a vintage Land Rover, commonly driven by Emiratis in the early days, lies by the entrance under the Neem tree. Seven new Neem trees have been planted in the center of the restaurant to provide guests with natural shade and a light breeze as they indulge surrounded by nature.
