Our cuisine is contemporary, modern and we draw inspiration from all corners of the globe. it’s an open kitchen with adjacent chefs table, where the guest and chef interact to create a unique dining experience. The dining room is sleek yet comforting and near enough to feel the heat of the kitchen.
Cooking has been an integral part of Chef Omar’s life. When kids his age were watching cartoons, he developed a peculiar interest in watching cooking shows. When he grew up in San Francisco, he spent his summer working at Peruvian restaurants such as Frescas and Limon.
After finishing college, Omar attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in New York which gave a kickstart to his career. He would go on to cook and stage at some of the best kitchens in New York City such as Alain Ducasse at Essex House, Eleven Madison, Momofuku and BLT before devoting his talents to Peruvian cuisine.
Combining all of his global culinary experience and knowledge, Omar ventured into Dubai by setting up Mayta Restaurant & Pico Bar in DIFC to present the ‘Food You Love To Eat’! Omar now heads SLAB test kitchen and other casual as well as high-end projects.
Our menu reflects the seasons in a manner that is elegant but unforced with an approach to few ingredients and non-functional garnishes. Free but with clever constraint.
